Exam-season study system that sticks
Combine planning, active recall, and short reviews so revision time turns into memory — not rereading theatre.
Rereading notes feels productive and fades quickly. Better systems schedule retrieval practice: flashcards, practice questions, and short teaching-out-loud sessions.
Build a weekly spine
- List exams and weighted topics.
- Block study sessions on a calendar (shorter daily beats rare marathons).
- Assign each block a single outcome: “20 cards on Module 3” not “study biology”.
- Leave buffer days for weak topics discovered by practice tests.
Active recall loop
- Convert lecture headings into questions.
- Answer from memory, then check notes.
- Promote hard cards; retire easy ones temporarily.
- End with a 5-minute summary written without looking.
- Exam dates and topics listed
- Sessions scheduled with concrete outcomes
- Flashcards or quizzes created from own notes
- Weekly review of missed questions
- Sleep and breaks protected in the plan
Smart Study helps you build flashcards, quizzes, and a planner from your materials.
